CONCRETE BASINS,
FORMED makes handmade concrete basins in England, designed for contemporary bathrooms and made to order in our own workshop. The range includes countertop and vanity basins, wall-mounted and modular basins, pedestal basins, double basins and compact minis, in forms from softly curved to ribbed and faceted.
Every basin is cast from our Eco-Concrete, made with 80% recycled sands, aggregates and cement replacements. The mix is fibre reinforced for strength and crack resistance, and each basin is factory sealed with our multi stage system developed over 25 years to resist water and stains, with no resealing needed. Colour is mixed through the concrete, so you can choose from 40 curated colours or request a custom one.
Most designs come in several sizes, and we make custom dimensions for architect and designer projects. Because each basin is hand cast, pin holes, soft tonal variation and a natural patina are part of the material's character.

Colour
The colour of our basins can vary slightly from mix to mix, this is completely normal and is a result of differences in the recycled materials used within the concrete itself, as well as ambient conditions during casting and curing.
Colour varies across the finished surface as the liquid concrete compacts and gently circulates within the mould during vibration.
The effect is more pronounced in taller basins and in designs with a curved undercut.
Pin holes
Pin holes or air bubbles are one of the most notable characteristics of concrete and one that immediately describes the material as concrete. This is our favourite characteristic and one which we try to show in all of our basins.
Pin holes can vary in size and frequency depending on many factors such as mix or seasonal temperatures.
Patina
The patina of the concrete creates a rich, tactile surface, with pinholes that add character and depth.
As each basin is cast and vibrated, the natural movement of the concrete within the mould creates a flowing texture, revealed on the surface once de-moulded.

Are concrete basins durable?
Yes. FORMED basins are made from fibre-reinforced Eco-Concrete for strength and crack resistance, and each one is hand made to last. Every basin is factory sealed, so it is water and stain resistant for daily use.
Do concrete basins stain?
Our factory sealing system makes the surface water and stain resistant, so everyday splashes, soap and toothpaste wipe away. Like any natural material, concrete is best cleaned promptly if something spills.
Do I need to reseal my concrete basin?
No. Our basins are sealed at the factory with our own sealing system and do not need resealing, so there are no waxes or treatments to apply later.
How do I clean and care for a concrete basin?
Wipe it with a soft cloth, soap and water. That's all it needs. See our Materials & Care page for more.
How long does it take to make and deliver a basin?
Every basin is made to order, which takes 4-6 weeks. Once it's made, UK delivery takes 1-3 days and international delivery takes 3-5 days. See Shipping & Returns for details.
What goes under or alongside a concrete basin?
You can pair a basin with one of our bathroom cabinets for storage, or with a Wireframe basin frame that adds a surface for a vanity-mounted bowl or carries a wall-mounted modular basin. See cabinets and frames together in our pairings collection.
Do you make matching accessories?
Yes. Our concrete accessories are cast from the same Eco-Concrete and come in the same 40 colours, so you can match or contrast them with your basin. Shade can vary slightly between batches, so order a colour sample if an exact match matters.
Will the colour and finish match the photos exactly?
Colour is mixed all the way through the concrete, so it can't chip or peel. Because each basin is hand cast, shade can vary slightly from mix to mix, and you may see pin holes and soft tonal variation. These are natural features of concrete. If colour is critical to your project, order a colour sample first.

We offer 40 curated colours, and custom colours are available on request. You can order colour samples to see them in your own light.
What is Eco-Concrete?
It is our own concrete mix, made with 80% recycled sands, aggregates and cement replacements. It is fibre reinforced and factory sealed, so the recycled content doesn't compromise strength or finish.
Which waste and tap do I need?
Our basins fit most wastes available on the market. Basins such as Ilka or Olla, have an accompanying waste and matching concrete cover. Each product page lists what is included and what to order separately. If you're unsure, contact us and we'll confirm for your basin.
Can I get a custom size or design?
